Lorcan has seen my dogs multiple times and is fantastic with them. He puts a lot of time and effort into their care, and is always happy to answer the many questions I have. I always feel reassured after appointments. A 5-star vet. All the staff at White House Vets are great and very welcoming.

My dog had an eye infection so I brought her to Whitehouse Veterinary clinic. We were seen by a Vet - Michael - who was very friendly, professional and courteous. He diagnosed that she had conjunctivitis and prescribed antibiotic eye drops which cleared up the infection almost overnight, so top marks there. On my way out I paid the bill in full at reception, which for the consultation and the eye drops came to £71.10, which almost made MY eyes water. A week or so later I phoned to enquire about routine worming tablets for the dog, I was told that they would cost £60 for the treatment. I politely declined, I buy these items several times a year and I knew I hadn't been charged anywhere near that price. I called another veterinary practice and bought them for half that amount, same product, same dosage exactly - Nexgard Spectra. A few weeks later we started to receive quite formal and ominous sounding demands for £60 from Whitehouse veterinary practice. When I phoned to query this bill I was told that it was for the Nexgard treatment that I had merely enquired about and I pointed out that I didn't buy the worming tablets or receive them from Whitehouse, they were quite ''miffed '' about it but I was able to provide them with proof that I had obtained them from another vets much cheaper. I found the woman who dealt with my call to be quite indignant and confrontational. It wasn't one of the younger women from reception who were always more than pleasant towards me over the years. A few weeks later we have now received a letter - via recorded delivery no less - basically telling us to take the dog elsewhere in future. This is petty and vindictive, after all, they had made a big mistake by demanding payment for something I didn't get or ask for. Most businesses would be affronted if they made such a gaffe. More to the point, a polite apology from them would have been absolutely in order. When I phoned the woman who issued the letter to check that they had at least been able to confirm that we hadn't in fact received any such medication from them, we had merely made an enquiry by phone, the woman accepted that we didn't in fact owe them any money. She did however allege that I had been "rude" to one of the girls who had taken my call, and had caused her some distress, which is totally untrue. The woman who dealt with my call was more than capable of holding her own, quite sharp in fact. and as I said earlier she was confrontational, amongst other comments she even suggested that the other veterinary practice had sold me inferior quality or non genuine medication. So be careful. Check your bills thoroughly. Veterinary bills are steep enough nowadays without these people trying to charge you for goods or services you neither received nor ordered.

We had to put our dog to sleep earlier this week. The staff were incredibly sympathetic and considerate. The offer of an ink paw-print as a memento was very touching and appreciated.
